Even though I was not there physically in Shanghai to welcome the new year, I felt as though I was with my family counting down at home. We skyped and they showed me the all too familiar majestic fireworks display a distance away from my compound. We saw each others' faces, chatted excitedly and were all hyped up at the beautiful explosions that were before our eyes.
It was as if I never left my home in Shanghai. Once again, it makes me think about my parents and miss them more than before. |
