It's been long. This time I'm back with a lesson to tell. Well, maybe more than one.
Everyday is a lesson for me, but the experiences and learnings gain from each lesson varies according to depth of the situation. In the most recent lesson, I learned the importance of friendship again.

Just came back from Malacca where we visited mother's friend. This friend of hers is one of the few friends which she met in Beijing. This trip was a very impromptu one, to put that into context - we booked the last room of the hotel which we stayed for the past two nights. Impromptu trips are usually the most fulfilling, where there are no concrete plans and it is all about going with the flow. Went with an open mind and no expectations, we were blessed with kind friends who has friends to give us a VVIP tour around the highest point in Malacca, which was still not opened to public - and the start date was to be next month with fees.

To describe that feeling, yes it was exclusive; but more than that - top of the world while sinking into the sea of bright lights twinkling in the midst of the clear night skies. It was a view that was wasted with my photography skills, not being able to capture what many others photographers would kill to witness it with their own eyes. Nevertheless, I feel extremely grateful for that short yet million dollar opportunity.

That aside.

Each trip away from work, no matter how short, serves as a reminder that a person needs a break at relevant times. I feel rejuvenated each time I get back from a holiday, feeling rested and ready to face the next few months of work before another break.

This trip have also shown and reminded me the importance in choosing one's life partner. It isn't just all about physical attraction and chemistry, but the real connection between people. The understanding for each other, the willingness to accommodate and sacrifice, the right values and morals that we should continuously remind each other to uphold as humans.

Lots of lessons, still finding the meaning to life.
